Tracy and Fred at the Royal Palms

I average about 1 wedding a year at the Royal Palms and I love it. Jamie and I always say how we need to get away for a weekend and stay here because it really is so beautiful and relaxing.

Well yesterday I was so excited to go back to the Royal Palms and photograph Tracy and Fred's wedding. I have been looking forward to this wedding for quite some time now.. I truly had my dream team of Vendors to work with and I loved it! Karen Tyler, from Tylers Custom Designs did the flowers, Sarah SanMarco did the makeup, Ashley Stone with Something Blue Events was the wedding coordinator and ROCKED!!! And then we had my favorite DJ, Adrian with SKM Entertainment. I love knowing all the vendors and working with fabulous people because the day seriously went without a hitch!

Tracy and Fred are such a cute couple. I photographed their engagement session at the Phoenix Zoo and really got to know them while we walked around. He is from France and his family came out to the wedding and couldn't speak any english.. only French!! They are so in love and so cute!

Get ready because there are a ton of pictures... we had a blast!

This card was from one of her friends who flew in. When Tracy saw me taking a picture of this she got a huge grin and said that the card really meant a lot to her.

Tracy had the date of the wedding sewn into her dress. What a great idea!

Tracy was GORGEOUS!!!

They choose to see each other before and i'm so glad!

I loved Fred's reaction to seeing her.

We then walked around the place and got some great shots.

Instead of having a huge wedding pary, Tracy just invited all of her girlfriends to come and take pictures with her and hang out with her all day! It was a really creative idea. Having family and friends around was really important for both Tracy and Fred.

The Guest book was very different as well. The Royal Palms has a book that they sell about the history of the place. Tracy and Fred choose to use the book as a guest book for everyone to sign.

A kiss for Daddy!

I'm a sucker for tears, at least that's what Tracy says, and it's true. I love this shot of her wiping her tear away during the ceremony.

After the Ceremony they wanted some private time in a cute courtyard and we got some great pictures of that as well.

You both are such a beautiful couple. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day. I had such a wonderful time!

Heidi and Jake

I've been dying to post these pictures, but i'm trying to post as many days as I can, so this post had to wait till today! So glad it's going up!

This is Heidi and Jake. Heidi has been a friend of mine for over 9 years now and Jake is her husband. Now that I have finally met Jake I consider him a friend as well.. he rocked and is perfect for Heidi! While I was in Austin for Melissa's wedding I was able to take some pictures of them. They had a bad experience with their wedding pictures and told me that they don't have a good picture of the two of them. I hear this so much and it makes me so sad... so I told them that we had to go do a sort of "engagment session" with them.

We met up in Downtown Austin, which was amazing, and spent an hour or so walking all around taking some awesome pictures.

I LOVE going to new places to take pictures, it just brings so much creative freedom and I get so excited when I see cool places that will make a picture! Walking around in Austin for me was like seeing a little girl in a candy shop... I kept saying, "wait stop I see a picture", "oh stop again", "this is the last one I promise.. oh wait there is another one"!!! I couldn't get enough of it.

So, for some of you these are the pictures you have been dying to see!! Enjoy!!

Heidi and Jake, you both rock and did such a phenominal job!! I hope you LOVE them!!!

I must give credit to MaryBeth Tyson, who is another of my wonderful friends. She came along with me and shot some amazing stuff. This is one of her pieces.

This is another MB shot... I LOVED it so I had to share.

Marybeth also shot this picture, which I thought was fun.. me in action.

This is the picture I was shooting.

Driving around I saw this blue wall which just made me so happy.. It was so different and I envisioned so much with it! You will see this again in some family shots I will hopefully be able to post this week!

Jenn and Tim

About a month ago I got a call from Jen asking if I was still available on April 22nd to photograph a wedding at the Four Seasons. I was, and we talked about all the details I would need to know about the event. It was small, intimate, and going to be gorgeous. She sent me a layout of the ceremony and how the entire event was going to be laid out.

When I got to the Four Seasons on Sunday I was able to see her vision and it was beautiful. I had never met either Jenn or Tim, so it was fun meeting them for the first time. The wedding was beautiful and the pictures turned out great.

Again, we played with lighting for this shot and I love how it turned out.

The Rings are a very interesting story. Neither of them had seen their ring. Each couple picked out the ring and then when they were exchanging rings for the first time they saw it. It was a great moment when Jenn saw the gorgeous ring that Tim picked out for her.. I mean look at it below it it gorgeous!

Getting Ready.

Beautiful portrait of Jenn.
The Grandmother kept asking me not to take her picture and to practice on someone else... but I wasn't practicing and she was a gorgeous lady. This is right before the ceremony. Isn't she beautiful!

Very cute Ringbearer.

Jenn looked beautiful.

We then went out and did some portraits of them. Aren't they cute?

At the reception I saw tims' brother and girlfriend sneaking a few laughs together and we caught this cute moment!

The First dance. What an amazing setting for the first dance, don't you agree.

Thank you both. I had such a great time with you! I hope you had an amazing honeymoon!!

Daisy and Jon

We have been so busy again lately.. it seems like we can never catch up! But we wanted to share with you one of the weddings we photographed this weekend.

Daisy and Jon got married at Terravita Country Club in Scottsdale on Saturday. It was a wonderful wedding and Daisy looked stunning. I love working at Terravita, it is a private club, but it is gorgeous and some of my favorite pictures have come from there. Malcom and his staff are wonderful to work with as well.

I also had fun using light differently than I ever had. The dress and the shoe shot are lit up and I love how they turned out.

The girls got ready in the Womens Locker room, which was suprisingly large!! Large rooms are great for pictures!

I think this is my favorite picture of Daisy!

And she looks so elegant here!

The Rings!!

This is one of my favorite trees ever! It's actually the same tree that is on my business cards, but it looks different with leaves on it! I think this with the sky is so dramatic!

One of the 3 ring bearers!!

The Guys

The happy couple married!!

The gorgeous girls.

Thanks you two! I had such a wonderful day! It was a great wedding!

The Infranco Family

This is the Infranco family. I had such a great time hanging out and taking pictures of them. Val, the mom, called and said that they wanted fun and different family pictures and that I had creative freedom.. I love that! So, we drove around and I found some very different places to take pictures. They turned out great!!!

Thanks guys for allowing me to do this. I had a blast!!!

Light

Light has always been something in photography that I want to learn more about. I've always wanted to know how to do cool fun lighted portraits. During weddings I work mostly with natural light... we are always on the go, so we don't have lights that we carry with us. Even during portriat sessions I usually shoot with natural light... I love doing it that way and it has worked wonders for me, but it is always good when you find something different to do that really makes you go... Gosh.. I love what I do.

Well, this conference that I was at is called "One Light Workshop". The goal was to show us all how to use one light and get some killer shots. As I knew would happen, Zack did not dissapoint and I learned so much and had so much fun with some AMAZING photographers.

Light is such a cool thing when you learn how to use it and today I learned some neat things.

Below are a few of my favs from the day. I'm hoping that tomorrow I can post a few of what happened during the day, but these are actual ones that I shot.. I love my job.

This is the wonderful Sara France posin' for the camera.

And thanks to Pepper for being my subject in this crazy shot! It looks awesome!!

I have had such a blast. I'm exhausted, but it's been good. The next few days we are going to relax and enjoy San Diego. I love it!

San Diego

Well, I don't have any pictures to post, but I made it safely to San Diego. I am staying with a great photographers friend of mine, Melissa from Organic Photo and going to an amazing lighting conference with some great photogaphers. Melissa Jill is out here with me as well and we are going to soak in so much knowledge and come back with some amazing lighting techniques. I love going to conferences because there is always so much more that I can learn in the photography world and I always come back with something new to experiment with and some great friendships of amazing photographers along the way.

Tonight we had a mixer to get to know everyone and I got to talk to some great people, like Sara France, Pepper Nix, Zack Arias (the One Light Genious), and more. I'm so excited to get to know everyone and hopefully will have some killer shots to post later this week.

Right now it is off to bed for me, I have a jam packed day ahead of me.

Off To Sandiego

I will be in Sandiego all this week... for business and to celebrate the tax season being over for my wonderful husband.

I will try to check emails and voicemails but it will be limited, so please be patient with me!!

Talk to you all soon!!

Carissa and Bryan

Yesterday Carissa and Bryan got married at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Phoenix. They got ready at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch, which is an amazing resort. And the reception was at the Camelback Golf Club, which I love!! We traveled around a lot between all the 3 locations, but it was so much fun!

I have had so much fun getting to know Carissa, she is such a sweet girl! Her style for the wedding was awesome. She wore a beautiful dress with a very uniqe style and all her girls wore different black dresses, but looked amazing.

I was also excited because I got to work with Bings Floral, who did an AMAZING job on the reception room, and Nesbitt Video, one of my favorite videographers, and The Aaron Nelson Project, a live band that is by far my favorite around (if you haven't heard them, find the next club they will be at and go!!).

I love working with amazing vendors, because I know the day is going to be smooth and beautiful, which is exactaly what it should be!!

So, below are some of the amazing pictures of Carissa and Bryan.. they truly are a wonderful couple and I was so blessed to be a part of their day!! You guys are amazing.

Krista and Nate

What a week we have had.. we have been so crazy busy shooting sessions and yesterday, yes a thursday, we had a wedding.

I've been really excited about this wedding for awile now. Krista contacted me awhile ago saying she had to have me for her wedding, but that it was very small and on a Thursday... the day does not matter to me, so I was thrilled to do her wedding. She then came out and visited Arizona to check out places and meet with me; we hit it off and it just continued to make me excited for the big day.

Yesterday was a little windy, but gorgeous and you can't beat the location of The Four Seasons Troon North. The wedding was small, just family came, which consisted of 2 sisters, a brother, parents, and lots of wonderful children.

We got a ton of great pictures.

The mother of the Bride and mother of the groom helping Krista put her dress on.

Krista and Nate choose to see each other before the wedding and they were so glad they did! Krista started crying.. she didn't think it would be that emotional.. but this time before the wedding always is:).

We wandered all around and took some great pictures of the two of them.

Lots of kids.. there were 3 flowergirls and 1 Junior Bridesmaid. All very cute!

During the Ceremony.

Everyone then shared in with champagne and a toast.

Thanks everyone. I had a wonderful time yesterday! Enjoy the beautiful weather!!

Friends

It is so amazing to find out what friends from long ago are doing. I just found a friend through Myspace, Spencer Day, who was always an amazing singer. Now he has a couple of CD's out and a music video. I grew up in a small town, so it is really neat to see how many people are doing awesome things with their lives!!

My husband and I love watching baseball and especially the Diamondbacks. Jamie called me today and surprised me with home opener tickets, so right now we are sitting at the stadium in our new red diamonbacks t-shirts...i'm still undecided about the new color change, but I still love my d-backs!!!

Work it Rose!!

This is one of my best friends, Rose! She is graduating from College this year and we decided to do some "Senior Pictures" of her! We had a good time and I thought I would share a few of my favs!!

Ali - Senior Pictures

This is Ali... she is gorgeous!!! I've known Ali now for over 5 years, I think when she was in 7th grade.. she is now a beautiful Senior and I got to do her Senior Pictures. We had so much fun! I don't believe in traditional posed senior pictures. I want them to be fun, different, and have an edge! So we went to downtown Mesa and took some killer shots!

You can view a slideshow here of some of the images, and then below are some of my favorites!

Melissa and Rick

As you all know, I am in Austin and leave tomorrow morning.

The long awaited pictures of Melissa and Rick are finally here! Yesterday I photographed Melissa and Ricks wedding. The wedding was GORGEOUS!! Taken place at a mansion in Austin, TX, Melissa and Rick were married outside in the front yard. The house was beautiful, but nothing in comparison to Melissa. She was stunning!

Melissa is a good friend of mine and it was so amazing to meet her now husband Rick. They are so in love and it shows. What a wonderful couple, inside and out.

Below are some of my favorites from the wedding. Coming soon are day after pictures. Melissa and Rick met me this afternoon to take some amazing sexy pictures and I promise you will want to see them, they are HOT!!!
